Our baby girl was finally born Monday December 28th at 6:40 pm via a scheduled C-section. She was a whopping 9 lbs and 20.5" long. The doctor was shocked since he had thought she was about 7 lbs. but I and my bruised ribs thought otherwise. Since Ela was an emergency it was nice to have this planned so the doctors could take their time and I could be awake to hear her first cries and actually see her before being in the recovery room for 2 hours. Plus my doctor said I would have ended up with a C-section anyway since she was so big. Everything went well and we are so happy she is finally here!
The second night we spent mostly awake so this is the morning after. Todd ended up having to hold her to get her to sleep.

The first meeting, as you can see she's pretty ecstatic. Due to swine flu hospital visitors were limited to the father of the baby plus one other person and no one under 14 at all.

When I read this prayer I thought of Ela and Tasha. Thank you being the wonderful parents that you are.
May today there be peace within.
May you trust that you are exactly
where you are meant to be.
May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are
born of faith in yourself and others.
May you use the gifts that you have received,
and pass on the love that has been given to you.
May you be content with yourself
just the way you are.
Let this knowledge settle into your bones,
and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love.
It is there for each and every one of us.
Thanks Dave. You guys are pretty wonderful yourselves :)
Congratulations again on your bundle of sweetness. I'm so glad I got to visit with you and Todd and meet baby Tasha. She really is a BEAUTIFUL baby.
Lauren, she is beautiful! I am so excited for you. Isn't it fun that Ela is at an age to be really excited to have a sister? I love how bringing a new baby into the house brings out the sweetest things in your older kids. I can't wait to meet her and see you again.
